Environmental Statement:
F.B. Jesper & Son Commercial Ltd is committed to minimising the impact of
our activities on the environment and preserving the Earth’s valuable natural
resources.
Reducing our impact on the environment is an integral part of our business ethos.
We encourage all of our employees to show a responsible attitude towards the environment
and to recycle and reuse materials whenever possible. We work with all of our
suppliers and customers who share our commitment to ethical and environmental
best practice
We are focussed towards streamlining our efficiency in order to minimise the
impact of our actions on the environment, and all parts of our business are constantly
monitored and improvements instigated at every opportunity.
Suppliers & Product Ranges:
As founder members of the largest independent buying group in the UK [Advantia
Business Solutions Ltd.], we have business relationships with the office product
industries largest and most respected manufacturers and distributors. Key issues
such as the manufacturing process, storage and distribution of products are key
to the relationship and as larger industrial concerns, they are strictly guided
and policed by current EU legislation.
Environmentally friendly products are clearly identified in our catalogue with
our key symbols guide, and products that are recyclable are also highlighted for
our customers. We also believe that environmental issues are a major factor
when purchasing paper. Before we choose to include any product in our catalogue,
we ensure that it is sourced from manufacturing mills that conform to one or more
of the recognised environmental standards like EMAS or ISO14001.
Distribution:
Our fleet of vehicles allows us to economically deliver to our regional customer
base via a fleet of low emission vehicles. All of our vehicles are serviced on
a regular basis and our vehicle routes are carefully planned to help keep emissions
low. Our national deliveries are undertaken by our professionally streamlined
stocking and distribution partners.
In a major innovation within our industry we have streamlined our supply chain
to reduce the cost to the environment by reducing the number of road journeys
needed to distribute the products we sell. On a daily basis we work in partnership
with our suppliers to ensure the goods and services we offer have the minimum
adverse environmental impact.
Recycling Initiatives:
Consolidated administration also ensures that our customers have less paperwork
to handle from our accounts department through extensively merged and consolidated
accounting documentation.
We aim to recycle or reuse all packing material within our operation, with the
help of our recycling partners.
Recycling services for printer cartridges [endorsed by Agenda 21] are currently benefiting the environment and we are currently supporting three
charities with the money that we have raised as part of this initiative.
Our On-line Ordering System also has a benefit to the environment, as it cuts
down on paper trials and the need to use a paper based catalogue.
Future Aims:
We wish to work with our customers and suppliers, to ensure that wherever possible
we work to reduce waste, re-using and recycling materials and encouraging all
of our staff to apply good environmental practice.
